Odd Lot's Gigi Pritzker and Deborah Del Prete will produce along with Batfilm's Michael Uslan, who is an executive producer on Batman Begins and Constantine. Created in 1940, The Spirit is the story of a detective who thwarts an attempt to release a substance that will leave the inhabitants of Central City in suspended animation. WIP gives its all to 'Fifty Percent' By Liza Foreman Hollywood Reporter June 30, 2004 Warner Independent Pictures is in for "Fifty Percent." Warners' specialty film arm is developing the dark comedy with producers Steven Haft and Odd Lot Entertainment's Deborah Del Prete and Gigi Pritzker. Writer Darin Mark is on board to pen the script, which follows three waitresses who agree to marry for money, get divorced and take 50% of each man's net worth so they can start their real lives on a tropical island. Five years later, one woman is ready to cash out whether the other girls are in or not. Michael Andreen and Tracey Bing are overseeing for WIP. Haft's recent credits include "Eulogy," "The Singing Detective," "Tigerland" and "Beautiful Joe." Odd Lot Entertainment's other projects include "The Reckoning" and "Hooligans." Tamarac's Will Eisner, the featured speaker at the event in the Davie university's Alvin Sherman Library, Research and Information Technology Center, discussed his career in the comic book industry and his role as a pioneer of the graphic novel -- a narrative discussing serious issues that is written in comic book form. The July 10 event drew more than 75 people interested in cutting-edge Japanese animé/manga comics and the famous man who coined the term ''graphic novel,'' raising the bar on comic book text and value by giving it a name.
